I need to just get this out of the way: Norman Reedus is pretty much one of the hottest motherfuckers I know.

THAT SAID:
DOWN TO BUSINESS. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l…" width="19" height="21" alt=":lmao:" title="Laughing my ass off!"/>

When I originally saw this as I was browsing about I honestly thought it was a photograph from the thumbnail image. The degree of realism produces that effect from afar and to me, I find that that's one of the most defining marks in quality realism.

For me, one of the things that pops the most are the folds of the clothing. I know exactly how difficult it can be to create that, even with a reference image. It's probably one of the things that I find really detracts from the quality of most artwork - and not for lack of people trying, but for the level of difficulty that it can produce. The fabric folds and drapes in all the right places and accents the shoulders very well and as well, the jeans not only do the same, but through lack of as many folds, illustrate that it is material of a different thickness, which is another common mistake I see.

His face. The expression is simultaneously badass and playful - and typifies what I think of as Norman Reedus better than a lot of photographs even can, lol.

The last thing that really talks to me is the perspective. Yeah, it's a little limited because it essentially hits that back wall, but it draws the eye in toward the bottom of that shirt, where the sweeping folds in the fabric continue to lead your eye. That is exceptionally well-done; very subtle but effective, gets you to the point.

I'd have to say that really my only somewhat negative comment is that to me, even considering the position he's in, his right arm is just a touch too long and the attached hand and fingers are, while still executed very well, not as masterful as the left's nor are they in keeping with the perspective as much.

But like I said, that's so minor; I don't think most people would really notice it. I only did as an afterthought when I was looking back and writing this critique and thinking "Something's ever so slightly off..." and even then, I had to really stare at it for a second to notice.

Very well done! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart"/>
